The class is organized as a team of about 15 children who learn to work together in all aspects of creating a short film. Class time is divided so that the first hour examines each component of film making, including in particular story line, screenplay, lighting, directing, camera work and filming, acting and organizing the logistics and budget. We don’t go into the detail of film editing in this class. The second hour is devoted to the practical work.
The concept of the class is to guide the children to think creatively and to take initiative in the various tasks connected with film making. We consider this class to be fundamental in giving children a context to explore their Georgian traditions within their immigrant New York City experience. The classes are conducted in both Georgian and English, so that children can use the language more comfortable for them.
We are a growing community sharing a common interest in Georgian culture, immigrant life and the practice and enjoyment of the best of art and culture. If you would like to become involved or simply learn more, you are most welcome to visit, email, phone or write.
We can converse in English, Georgian and Russian.
